TRUE SPREADSHEET STORIES

Welcome to True Spreadsheet Stories!

I was messing about with AI and decided to make some spoof movies with me in the lead role. I got a little carried away, and I soon realised that I had 200 movie and TV series poster images, all Excel related.

It’s now got a bit out of hand, and has been picked up as a topic for this new documentary!

Episode 1

The spreadsheet action hero

Every industry has its legends.

Its specialists.

Its people called in when everything starts falling apart.

For businesses struggling with broken spreadsheets, confusing systems, and data held together with little more than hope… that person became Richard Sumner.

He built his reputation the hard way; without shortcuts, without flashy gimmicks, and without relying on hidden code to save the day.

Episode 2

The man behind the grid

By the time Richard Sumner entered the second phase of his career, the reputation had already been established.

Businesses knew exactly who to call when spreadsheets became too large, too fragile, or too important to fail.

But while the projects became more ambitious, the philosophy behind them remained remarkably simple.

Build systems that work.

Build them clearly.

And build them to last.
