Why do I need to analyse data?
Analysing data is extremely important in business today, there is so much data, and understanding it is key to success. Companies like Facebook and Google analyse ‘big data’ to get where they are. We may not have access to big data, but we all do have access to ‘little data’. If you’d like to know more about this, read our blog entitled Forget Big Data, Understand Your Little Data.
What kind of data can I analyse?
Absolutely anything. All you need is the raw data, which either can come from an existing programme, or can be collected manually. What data you wish to analyse is completely up to you. All of our businesses are different, and we all need to know different things, so any data can be collected and analysed.
Just to give you an example of what we mean, take a look at the before and after pictures below. This is a simple solution which we created to analyse the downloads from our website. Here is the ‘before’ picture of the raw data available.
What will the results be like?
That data is nice to have, but really it doesn’t tell us much unless we analyse it an put the information into a format which is easy to understand. By simply putting the raw data into our specially made spreadsheet, it will produce useful reports such as these.
Now you can make it happen.
Now that actually tells us what we need and want to know. That is what we do for businesses of all shapes and sizes.
What kind of data do you have, and what would you like to know about it?
